Satellite shows murky Colorado River floodwaters reaching Gulf

Colorado River entering the Gulf of Mexico

This is a polar-orbiting satellite view from Sunday of the lower Colorado River where it flows into Matagorda Bay.

You can clearly see the brown water covering the eastern section of the bay, getting ready to spread west into the large section of Matagorda Bay.

Apparently, the murky floodwater held together on its journey down to the coast.
