April 2019 in the Top Ten

The first third of 2019 ends today.  April has been extremely wet. During the month there were three days where more than one inch of rain was measured:
3.40″  April 6
1.30″  April 7
1.48″  April 24

The April 6 total alone was enough for the month being above normal.  Normal rain for April is 2.09″.  The Top Ten all-time wettest Aprils:

So, it has been 42 years since we had this wet of an April.

April is also the second month out of four with above-normal precipitation  As wet as it seems it’s been not even an inch of rain accumulated in February or March.

May and June are the wettest months in this area.  Based on Tuesday’s morning’s map models it is possible that some reporting stations will receive a month’s worth of rain (or more) in just the first even days.
