Alabama woman identified in $1K school supply theft and pepper spray attack

MOBILE, Ala (WKRG) — Police have identified the woman accused of stealing nearly $1,000 in school supplies from Office Depot. She is Candice Milam, but she’s not in custody. The man believed to be her accomplice has not been identified at this time.

Police say the couple was caught on camera stealing nearly $1,000 in school supplies from a Mobile Office Depot last Sunday. When a clerk tried to stop them, they turned on the clerk, shooting the clerk with pepper spray.

Police say the thieves were driving a brown 90s Crown Victoria with dents all over and a bungee cord holding the trunk shut.

Descriptions from police: Female: White, 5’5 and approx 130 pounds, short brown hair, bloodshot eyes, acne/sores on face, tattoos on chest, black short sleeve shirt, white shorts, white tennis shoes and armed with pepper spray

Male: White, 6’1-6’2 approx 185-200 pounds, short brown hair, black short sleeve shirt, black tennis shoes and camo pants

Police say they will both be charged with robbery and illegal use of a chemical defense spray once they are identified.
