Man dies after EMS called to ‘wilderness rescue’ in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man has died after medics were called to perform a wilderness rescue in southeast Austin on Saturday evening, EMS said.

The incident happened at the 6100 block of East Riverside Drive at about 6:37 p.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS said the man, aged approximately in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no signs of obvious trauma, EMS said.
