Cowboys took a step in the right direction Sunday

The Silver Star Nation’s Mickey Spagnola detailed his perspective on the Cowboys 20-13 win over the New York Giants on Sunday night.  He liked how Dallas improved in many aspects, including offensively.  And they also continued to play outstanding defense, recording six sacks of Eli Manning.

Rating the performance from one-to-ten, Mickey says:

“I think you’d have to say that you’re in that range of about a seven.  I think it was a step in the right direction.  The defense continued to play well.  The offense took a step forward.  And the reason they took a step forward was because of that offensive line.  Played much, much better than they did in the first game.  And you gotta remember they had some new moving parts in there with Joe Looney taking over for Travis Frederick at center, Connor Williams starting his first game in the national football league at left guard as a rookie.  And I thought those guys improved.  And as they improved, the offensive line improved.  That allowed Dak to improve, allowed Zeke to improve.  And I thought you saw a little bit more of what the wide receivers are capable of doing.  So all in all a step in the right direction, but they still have a ways to go.  And will have their hands full going into Seattle.  And just because they’re oh-and-two, they don’t need to go to sleep on that team.”

The Cowboys face an 0-2 Seahawks team that has struggled and fell at the Chicago Bears Monday 24-17.

Kickoff is at 3:25 p.m. central time Sunday and the contest will be televised on FOX.
