AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police say a woman is dead and medics said two others are hurt after a shooting early Thursday morning.

Police say the shooting occurred at Seventh Street underneath the Interstate 35 bridge around midnight. Austin-Travis County EMS and police arrived at the scene just but found no one. Three minutes later, authorities were called to 18th and Colorado streets.

Medics found two people with gunshot wounds at that location. They pronounced a woman dead and took a man to the hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive, police say.

ATCEMS says a third person was hurt, but medics did not know the extent of the person’s injuries. EMS tweeted that someone took the person to the hospital.

Police say they don’t know what led up to the shooting, and they don’t have any suspect information. They are currently looking for the suspect, and they don’t believe there’s a threat to the public.
