I love the weekends. It gives me an opportunity to catch up on some much needed rest and self-care. One way I love to treat myself is by using whatever I have in my pantry and fridge and coming up with easy DIY facial scrubs!
It takes no time at all and fits very well within my budget.
Set aside one hour and do each of these scrubs in order for the prescribed amount of time.
You’ll feel like a new person!–I guarantee it!
(Make batches of these natural scrubs to keep in your refrigerator so they’re ready to go when you are!)
Phase 1 – Oatmeal / Honey / Water Scrub
2 heaping tablespoon of oatmeal
2 teaspoons of honey
Add water little by little until you make a paste- not very thick!
Mix together with your fingers and apply as a mask to your face. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
Phase 2 – Sea salt / Lemon juice / Sugar Scrub
1 teaspoon sea salt
2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
Mix together with your fingers and apply as a mask on your face for 3 minutes. Then lightly scrub with your fingers for about 3 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
Phase 3 – Avocado / Honey Moisturizer
1/4 ripe, fresh, organic avocado
1/8 cup honey
Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in the honey. Apply to your skin and leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with a cool washcloth.
I always like to finish this entire process by applying witch hazel to a cotton ball and in an upward motion rub on my face. Remember to move in an upward motion because as we age, our skin starts to sag.
Apply your favorite moisturizer or face oil and you are good to go!
