Each year, Wildflower Center honors their namesake and co-founder and all that she did for our nation’s treasured environment on Lady Bird Day. They invite the community to celebrate Mrs. Johnson’s environmental legacy and the legislation that she inspired. With her influence, President Johnson’s administration enacted more than 200 environmental laws with lasting national and local impact, including the 1965 Highway Beautification Act. The Wildflower Center will offer free admission to all in celebration of Lady Bird Day on Saturday, July 28. Visitors can explore on their own, join a guided tour, catch a story time or watch short films about Mrs. Johnson alongside selected home videos narrated by Lady Bird herself.
