The Wildflower Center is thrilled to announce the opening of Fortlandia, a new and entirely unique exhibition of original forts by local architects, artists and designers, and students from the University of Texas at Austin. Each fort, constructed in our Texas Arboretum among live oaks and native grasses, has been custom-built to evoke memories of childhoods spent escaping into nature and daydreaming outdoors. Delight in these innovative spaces as they transport you to fantastic imaginary worlds and inspire an appreciation for art and nature and the curious, wonderful ways in which they intersect. Open throughout fall and winter in the Wildflower Center’s Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum. Entry is included with regular admission; admission is always free for members. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is located at 4801 La Crosse Avenue. Call (512) 232-0100 or go to WildFlower.org for more details.
