Food is a big part of their relationship and enthusiasm. We stopped by the home of The Couple in the Kitchen, Gavin and Karen, where they showed us how to make a restaurant-quality steak sandwich using the sous vide method. The sous vide method of cooking translates to “in a vacuum”, and is the process of cooking food where it’s marinating and cooking with it’s natural juices in an airtight bag placed in a water bath. The meat was prepped by adding salt and pepper to each side, and two slices of butter. Once the meat is cooked, we added butter to a skillet and laid each side of the steak on the skillet for 1 minute.
