Stiff test awaits Tiger Woods and field at PGA Championship

More Than the Score

FARMINGDALE, NY (KXAN) — The PGA Championship made a move on the calendar to May, so Tiger Woods only had a month to bask in his return to glory at The Masters.

Woods’ win at Augusta National energized the golfing world into an even higher pitch of Tiger mania with fans of the sport watching to see if he can catch Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors.

Bethpage Black is the site for the PGA Championship known as one of the most difficult golf courses in the country. A sign on the course states just that reading: The Black Course Is An Extremely Difficult Course Which We Recommend Only For Highly Skilled Golfers.

Cold and wet conditions this week in New York will likely make the next four days even tougher. The best and biggest hitters in the sport, like Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson, are the favorites to win.

Steve Habel, the managing editor for golfdaily.com, joined Roger Wallace on More than the Score to break down this week’s field.
