AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Bowie Bulldogs dispatched the Austin High Maroons 64-53 to improve to 10-12 on the season, and capture their third district victory of the season.

Brandon Myart led the way for the Bulldogs scoring a game-high 23 points.

The game started in back and forth fashion, with the game tied at 14 at the end of the first quarter.

The Bowie offense then warmed up quickly in the second quarter, and thanks to Bryce Benaway, Myart, and Gall, among others, the Bulldogs took a 33-26 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Austin High tried to keep pace with their three-point shooting but the Bulldogs were just too much to handle for the Maroons.

A Myart three-pointer in the 3rd quarter gave the Bulldogs a 46-32 lead which was their largest lead of the game.

The Maroons got a great game from guard Graham O’Shea who scored 19 points.

With the loss, Austin High dropped to 6-20, and 0-6 in District 26-6A competition.

Next for Bowie, they will take on Westlake next Tuesday night in the Chaparrals gym.

Austin High will play on the road at Akins High on Friday night.
