CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — Cedar Park took McCallum’s best punch, but proved to be too much for the underdog Knights.
The Timberwolves withstood onside kicks, fake punts and a variety of trick plays from McCallum for the 49-10 bi-district round victory Thursday at Gupton Stadium.
McCallum was intent on making Cedar Park earn their first round win by controlling the clock. Cedar Park only had four true possessions in the first half, but scored a touchdown on each one for a 28-10 halftime lead. The Timberwolves defense made the halftime adjustments to shut out McCallum in the second half.
Cedar Park will face the winner of Friendswood (8-2) and Kingwood (6-4) who play on Friday night.
