Woman killed in Kingsland identified

KINGSLAND, Texas (KXAN) — A woman killed in west Llano County Saturday has been identified, according to the Llano County Sheriff’s Office.

Llano County dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 4:42 p.m., where the caller claimed a man showed up at his front door in with severe injuries. 

The injured man told investigators that a homicide occurred at a home in the 300 block of Ridgeway Street in Kingsland. Upon investigating, officers found a woman dead at the home.

The woman has been identified as 49-year-old Rachel Mansell. Investigators reported that Mansell had suffered “severe trauma” all over her body.

The injured man was transported to a San Antonio hospital with severe life-threatening injuries. According to investigators, the man is a person of interest in the homicide case due to the fact that his injuries appear to be self-inflicted.

The homicide investigation is ongoing.
