Warrant Roundup offers chance to take care of charges before arrest

AUSTIN (KXAN) — There is chance for some reprieve from police if you have an outstanding warrant. The City of Austin is calling on those with warrants issued for their arrest to come forward for the annual Greater Texas Warrant Roundup.

Defendants will have the chance take care of their warrants before they are arrested. In addition to Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo and representatives from the Municipal Court, 300 jurisdictions state-wide are partnering for the roundup.

The goal of the roundup is to gather people with warrants and help them comply with their court orders. Multiple solutions will be offered for each defendant.

The roundup begins March 5, officials will be discussing the event Friday at the Austin Police headquarters.
