LOVERE, Italy (KXAN) — Firemen pulled out a trapped horse from a narrow ditch in a cemetery in northern Italy Tuesday.
The animal had somehow fallen flat on her back but firefighters managed to get it out safely, using a harness and a crane equipped with a special telescopic arm.
Visitors to the cemetery heard the horse whining and alerted authorities.
After a veterinarian sedated the animal, firefighters pulled out the animal using a special extendable arm, made available by a local company. The video provided by NBC shows the rescue which took several hours.
Fire brigade sources said the horse had not suffered serious injuries.
