NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — Utility crews working south of New Braunfels Tuesday discovered human skeletal remains, according to New Braunfels police.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. the crews working in the area of Farm to Market Roat 1044 and Green Valley Road called New Braunfels PD after they discovered items resembling skeletal remains. Sattelite imagery of the area they were working in appears to show farmland with few buildings in the surrounding areas.

Forensic investigators say the bones were from a human adult but little else is known about the victim including gender, potential age when they died and cause and manner of death.

Residents in the area will continue to see police presence as officers search for additional remains and potential clues as to who the person was or how they died.

All traffic on Green Valley Road in between FM 1044 and Ron Road will be closed Tuesday. Drivers will be diverted down Ron Road to Morningside Drive.
