AUSTIN (KXAN) — Scientists at the University of Texas are putting some new Hollywood films to the truth test. Physics professor Jacques Distler is speaking about the time travel taking place in the movie “Terminator Genisys,” which premiered on Wednesday.

Distler says that traveling back in time would require a completely new kind of physics that’s hard for even the professionals to imagine. He points to Steven Hawking’s observation about time travel. Hawking said there seems to be strong evidence that time travel is not possible because “we have not been invaded by hordes of tourists from the future.”
