AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County property owners are running out of time to pay their 2014 taxes. The deadline to pay property taxes in the county is 11:59 p.m. Monday, February 2 to avoid penalty and interest charges.
If you haven’t paid yet, don’t worry: There are several last-minute payment options. Travis County Assessor-Collector Bruce Elfant recommends paying online with an eCheck.
“It is important to me that online services provide payment options for Travis County residents,” Elfant said. “Many taxpayers need to save time and don’t want to stand in a long line.”
Residents can also pay by mail, phone or in person at one of five tax office locations. Elfant says payments with a postmark of February 2 or earlier will be considered on-time.
Although the main tax office at 5501 Airport Blvd. closes at 5:30 p.m., residents wishing to hand deliver payment there have until 11:59 p.m. Monday to place it in the drop box.
Residents who deliver their payment to one of the branch locations must do so by 4:30 p.m., when the offices close for the day.Travis County Tax Office Branches:
