Tom Herman gives update on Ehlinger’s shoulder

News

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger isn’t ready to pick up a football and start throwing just yet, but Texas coach Tom Herman hopes it will be soon.

“The schedule is pick up a ball on Thursday and see how it feels,” Herman said.

Ehlinger sprained the AC joint on his throwing shoulder Saturday against Baylor, but has two weeks to recover before Texas travels to Oklahoma State.

The Longhorns completed their first practice of the bye week Tuesday afternoon. They’ll practice tomorrow and Thursday before taking Friday and Saturday off.

Herman reported Ehlinger is feeling less pain in the shoulder and has a greater range of motion.
