HOUSTON (KXAN) — Crews worked Wednesday to rescue a miniature pony that got stuck in a Houston storm drain.
The situation was reported around 11:30 a.m., Houston NBC affiliate KPRC reports. A police officer was checking on a possible stolen truck when he heard something in an open storm drain — and was startled to find a horse inside.
Crews sedated the brown-and-white spotted pony and worked to free it.
Around 1 p.m. they were able to get it out of the drain and assessed it to make sure the pony wasn’t hurt. It’s not known how it got into the drain.
