Vice President Pence visits Rockport ahead of Harvey anniversary


ROCKPORT, Texas (KXAN) — Days before the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey making landfall along the coastal town of Rockport, Vice President Mike Pence will visit the area and meet with people who helped rebuild the community.

Pence will revisit the First Baptist Church of Rockport and will also receive a briefing on recovery efforts. 

When Harvey made landfall on Aug. 25, 2017, it had wind gusts of 152 mph. It was the 16th-strongest storm to make landfall in the U.S.
