UPDATE: Missing Waco girls found safe; Amber Alert discontinued

UPDATE 6:40 p.m.: 

The girls have been found safe, according to a tweet from the Waco Police Department. 

Investigations are ongoing. 

ORIGINAL STORY: 

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two little girls are missing from Waco Thursday morning and the Texas Department of Public Safety has issued an Amber Alert. 

The three and 4-year-old girls were last seen at about 3 p.m. Wednesday in Waco. Officials believe they were taken by 37-year-old Christopher Petty and are in “grave or immediate danger.” 

Petty was believed to be driving a white Ford Expedition with paper Texas plates.
