AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned… or a hungry meerkat.

The El Paso Zoo is giving scorned lovers an outlet for all their pent up anger this Valentine’s Day, all while keeping their hungry meerkats fed.

Zoo officials put a call out on their Facebook page giving people the chance to name a cockroach after an ex-lover. “Message us your ex’s name and we’ll name a cockroach after them,” officials wrote. “We’ll post names (first and last name initial!) starting February 11 here on Facebook!”

At 2:15 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, the critters will be released into the Meerkat enclosure and anyone with a sadistic streak can watch the meerkats chow down on the zoo’s meerkat webcam.

The Monday post on Facebook has been wildly popular and has seen thousands of shares and comments.
