AUSTIN (KXAN) — A San Marcos man was killed after he drove his motorcycle into a garbage truck in the early hours of Thursday, according to a press release from the San Marcos Police Department.

At about 2:22 a.m. police say 44-year-old Armando Puentes was riding his black Harley Davidson motorcycle when he drove it into a Texas Disposal Systems garbage truck that was blocking the road while it was dumping a large dumpster.

“Investigators believe that Mr. Puentes collided with the garbage truck and sustained injuries that led to his death,” officials wrote.

An autopsy was ordered and officials are waiting on the results. This is the first fatal wreck in San Marcos of 2019.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call San Marcos Police Department Commander Christopher Tureaud at 512.754.2201.
