San Antonio woman arrested, accused of stealing hundreds of packages

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — News Braunfels Police arrested a San Antonio woman who is accused of stealing hundreds of packages, envelopes and other mail. 

She is identified as Lana Krupka, 42. 

New Braunfels police officers were dispatched to the Caprock subdivision off Highway 46 South after they got reports of of a suspicious person tampering with community mailboxes. 

A release said when officers got to the area they conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle described to them as a black Jeep Wrangler and saw the Krupka’s vehicle was filled with several hundred packages, envelopes and other mail. 

Police said the mail was taken from the Caprock and Legend Pond subdivisions off of West Klein Road. The woman also had methamphetamines. 

Investigators with the Office of Inspector General for the United States Postal Service will determine whether Krupka will face federal charges. 

At last report, she had been transported to the Guadalupe County Jail and was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
