Reward offered for info on 18-wheeler driver in fatal Fayette County hit-and-run wreck

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Fayette County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information about a fatal hit-and-run wreck that happened in April, according to a release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. 

Officials say the wreck happened on April 4th at about 2 a.m. on U.S. Highway 77 near the Warda Post Office. 

Investigators believe an 18-wheeler truck and a passenger car were involved in the wreck. The driver of the 18-wheeler drove away, officials say. 

Fayette County Crime Stoppers are now offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the identity of the semi-truck driver. 

It is unknown if more than one person was killed in the wreck.
