HUMBLE, Texas (KXAN) — A new community outside of Houston is home to the first Crystal Lagoon in Texas.
It looks like a real beach, but it’s all man-made. The lagoon, which is located at the Balmoral community in Humble, holds 5 million gallons of water.
As the global ambassador for Crystal Lagoons, Olympian Michael Phelps was even on hand for its debut.
“I don’t count my laps really now,” Phelps said. “I just get in and, and swim, so for me, this should, this should be the perfect opportunity to just have a perfect escape to kind of clear my head.”
The lagoon has a grotto area, a serenity beach designed for grown-ups and a family beach with cabanas and loungers for those long Texas summers.
Homes in the Balmoral community are priced from the $200s to the $500s — and having a friend there is the only way you’ll be able to access the pool.
