NEW BRAUNFELS (KXAN) — The New Braunfels Police Department is asking the public for help in locating a suspect from a shooting at a New Braunfels motel Saturday night.

Law enforcement believe Porfirio Navarro, 18, from Seguin, TX, may have been involved in the shooting incident at the Motel 6 in the 1200 block of I-35 North. The victim was a 32-year old, male hotel clerk who suffered a gunshot wound to the face.

According to officials, the altercation began when the victim found himself in the middle of a disturbance at the hotel with a small group of people who were not guests of the Motel 6. During the incident, a gunshot was fired and the victim was then hit.

The man was transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, and is in stable condition as of his release.

Navarro, the suspect, is described as a Hispanic male, five feet tall, and about 100 pounds. Anyone with information about Navarro’s location should contact the New Braunfels Police or the Comal County Crime Stoppers at 830-620-TIPS (8477), on their website, or using the “P3 Tips” app for iOS and Android devices. The Crime Stoppers are offering a $4,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment.
