Motorcyclist killed in New Braunfels crash

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — New Braunfels police say a motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a utility pole.

Police say the 24-year-old man was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened before 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Denise Drive and Pams Path. The impact from the crash into the utility pole did cause a brief power outage to some homes near the crash site, and utility crews were called to the scene to restore power to the area.

Police are not naming the man who died until his relatives can be notified. The incident remains under investigation by members of the New Braunfels Police Department Traffic Unit.
