Llano County deputies on the hunt for counterfeit $100 bills

LLANO COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Deputies in Llano County are encouraging residents to be on the lookout for counterfeit one-hundred dollar bills.

Deputies say they found the fake bills like while searching a vehicle for narcotics. They have red Chinese markings on the front and back and officers say they feel a little different than actual cash.

Deputies say bills like this are actually used in China for training bank tellers in American currency.

“Be wary and take your time to look at bills that are given to you…one of these bills was actually passed at a business not long before the rest of them were discovered. We know your money is important to you…it’s important to your business,” said a post on the Llano County LEO Facebook page.

Police are asking anyone who comes across these bills to call 325-247-5767.
