ICE agent shoots, kills suspect in San Antonio

San Antonio ICE agent shooting

Investigators say the person shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in San Antonio Tuesday morning fired first.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation says the agents and officers on scene were serving an administrative warrant when the person they were looking for ran away around 7 a.m.

“A small chase ensued, the subject of that warrant then fired at ERO officers,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs. Combs said at least one ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) returned fire, striking the suspect.

The suspect died at the scene, which was in a neighborhood on the city’s south side. Authorities also recovered a firearm from the scene. One ERO officer was injured and is currently being treated.

Video from the scene shows a vehicle with numerous bullet holes through the windshield.

Numerous federal agencies are investigating the shooting.
