Forget the candy — the sweet surprises inside the colorful plastic at a Texas adult-only egg hunt were tickets for a variety of prizes from electronics to a Whataburger-for-a-year coupon.
Nearly a thousand people headed to Lake Jackson, Texas, Thursday to comb the area of MacLean Park for the 10,000 eggs hidden there, according to CNN affiliate KTRK. The whole search took place at night in the dark with people holding flashlights and wearing headlamps. It lasted less than a minute as people scrambled to collect as many eggs as possible.
People walked away with giant TVs, Nintendo gaming systems, laptops, gift cards and candy as well. There were $9,000 in prizes for people to find.
Before the adult Easter egg scramble, kids also had a chance to search for eggs — but it was much less frenzied.
