El Paso ‘Teen Sinatra’ will audition for ‘The Voice’

EL PASO, Texas (KXAN) — A 15-year-old El Paso resident known as the “Teen Sinatra” is hoping to get a chair turn from the judges of The Voice when he auditions for the singing competition show next month.

Joshua Lucero says he likes to sing songs by “old greats” such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, in an effort to bring the style back. Lucero says he admires the power of the old-school vocalists and how they used that power in their music.

He says Sinatra is his biggest musical influence and that he admires his cadence and stage manner —  which he plans will help him during his audition.
