TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A Travis County Sheriff’s Office deputy was rescued from the top of his patrol vehicle after it got caught at a low water crossing.
The deputy was investigating a report that someone had moved the barricades near the 24600 block of Farm to Market Road 1431, which is near Lago Vista in northwest Travis County. When he went to investigate around 7:30 a.m., the car got in the water, according to TCSO.
STAR Flight responded, but a fire department crew got there first and rescued him. The deputy is fine, but the vehicle is still in the water, TCSO said.
