King Jay Davila

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KXAN) — The cause of death for eight-month-old King Jay Davila has been deemed a homicide caused by blunt force trauma, as reported by NBC affiliate WOAI in San Antonio.

Baby Jay went missing back in January after his father, Chris Davila, reported to police that he was taken from the back of his car from a gas station parking lot, according to WOAI in San Antonio.

Davila reportedly led investigators to the baby’s body on January 11, which was found wrapped in a blanket in a backpack buried under a bridge in San Antonio.

According to WOAI, a community memorial service was held to honor of the baby Feb. 2, which was followed by a planting ceremony.

Davila along with baby Jay’s grandmother and cousin are facing charges of tampering with evidence in connection with his disappearance. The investigation is ongoing.
