Three children and two adults are dead following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 30 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
KTAL reports the children, two girls and a boy, who were all under the age of 10, and their mother were killed in the crash. The father was airlifted to St Francis Hospital in Tyler and is in stable condition. The family of five was traveling in a minivan that was involved in the wreck.
A female truck driver with a Tennessee license also died in the crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the chain reaction crash happened around 7 a.m. Friday. The first crash involved a truck towing a trailer that lost control, rolled over and was blocking both lanes.
Approximately an hour later, DPS says the truck driver with the Tennessee license failed to stop and slammed into the family’s minivan and then pushed it into the original crash.
