3 bodies found; 1 woman still missing a week after Junction flood

JUNCTION, Texas (KXAN) — Crews will continue the search Monday morning for a woman who went missing along the Llano River after flooding in Junction last week.

Three other men also went missing. All their bodies have been found, authorities say. Two bodies were recovered Thursday, while the remains of the third person was found in the Llano River on day six of the search, which was Sunday. Searchers spotted the remains at around 5:20 p.m. near the Yates Crossing in Junction downstream across the Llano River, a spokesperson with the Texas A&M Forest Service said.

Multiple search and rescue crews, local firefighters and law enforcement were dispatched to the area around 5:45 p.m.

People gathered at the Kimble County Chamber of Commerce on Saturday night for a candlelight vigil to show support for the families who lost their loved ones in the flood. The vigil was also for those who lost property and to support first responders in their rescue and recovery efforts.
