AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas women’s basketball program will get another shot at the sport’s best basketball program.
Texas and UConn have agreed to a home-and-home series starting in the 2020-21 season in Connecticut. The Huskies will return to Austin for the 2021-22 season.
Texas is 0-9 against UConn with four of those losses coming in the NCAA Tournament. In three of the postseason meetings, UConn has gone on to win the national championship.
Texas gave UConn a legitimate upset scare in their last meeting in Austin in 2018. Texas led early in the fourth quarter before the Huskies rallied for a four point victory.
This will be coach Karen Aston’s fifth and sixth meeting against the Huskies as the Longhorns head coach.
