HOUSTON (KXAN)– The Houston Texans went big with their first round pick. Tytus Howard  from Alabama State was the 23rd overall pick in NFL draft. Howard is 6-6 and 311 pounds and is looking to help bolster an offensive line that allowed 62 sacks in 2018.

Howard is the first offensive lineman the Texans have drafted in the first round since Duane Brown in 2008. Brown played 10 years with the Texans before being traded to Seattle in 2017.

The Texans have two picks on Friday with the 55th, 86th overall.
