Storm system sweeps across Texas bringing hail, flooding

TEXAS (KXAN) — This storm system is responsible for some close calls across Texas. First responders are on standby this morning in case they are needed for more rescues today.

A close call in Denton near Dallas yesterday as crews rescued six students when their bus got stuck in rising water. They were stranded in 3-feet of water, but weren’t unharmed eventually making it to school after they were carried to safety.

Another rescue took place out of the Fort Worth area. A man had to be rescued from his SUV after getting stuck in high water and mud.

A lot of cleanup for people living in the Dallas area as winds left behind wide damage from this first round of storms.

Storm spotters identified a funnel cloud dropping from a super-cell thunderstorm over San Saba County, fortunately it did not touch down. However, it did bring golf ball sized hail and two inches of rain in two hours in San Saba.
