Stony Point High coach one of two pedestrians hit, killed in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Round Rock police are investigating two separate crashes that killed pedestrians overnight Saturday.

The first crash happened on Main Street and Mays Street just before 1 a.m. Police say the driver struck the pedestrian and left the scene. RRPD has identified the victim as Sean Kelley, 43. a local high school teacher and coach. Police say the driver who hit Kelley was in a silver pickup truck.

Round Rock Independent School District confirmed Kelley was a coach and inclusion teacher at Stony Point High School. KXAN records show he had been at Stony Point since 2002. A spokesperson for the district said over the years Kelley coached cross country, tennis and soccer. The district says they will have counselors on hand at the school on Monday in case anyone needs support.

At 3:30 a.m., police were called to another crash involving a pedestrian in the 3400 block of East Palm Valley Blvd. near the Dell Diamond. The driver of the crash remained at the scene where the pedestrian later died.

Anyone with information regarding either of the deadly crashes is asked to call Round Rock police.
