State of Texas: Dangerous water contaminants


AUSTIN (KXAN) —  As the summer heat reaches its peak, KXAN’s State of Texas looks closer at the risks of dangerous contaminants in your water.

KXAN Investigators Kevin Schwaller and David Barer explain why some Texans face a higher risk – and why the state does not require tests to make sure their water is safe.

Some big businesses are polluting Texas lakes and rivers.  But they only face a slap on the wrist when they get caught.  KXAN Investigator Robert Maxwell looks closer at the system that lets companies get around steep fines, and how some state leaders are pushing for change.
