AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than 24 hours after a line of severe storms rolled through Central Texas, more than a thousand families are still in the dark.
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative said Sunday it had 157 outages affecting 669 customers between Austin and College Station.
According to the electric coop’s outage map, there were several clusters without power near Webberville in eastern Travis County as well as in Bastrop and Lee counties. All three areas were hit hard in the storms Saturday morning.
The good news it that other utilities showed improvement from Saturday. Austin Energy showed less than 20 customers affected Sunday.
Pedernalles Electric Cooperative had zero outages Sunday.Earlier Report
Thousands of Central Texas residents are without power Saturday morning after thunderstorms and strong winds pushed through the area Friday night.
Austin Energy says that about 230 customers are without power across Austin.
Pedernales Electric Cooperative says that 374 meters are affected in their coverage area.
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative reports that 2,245 customers are without power in their coverage area.
Due to differences in severity of damages the estimated times of power restoration vary across Central Texas.
