AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are searching for the person they say robbed a South Austin bank.
According to a police spokesperson, the call came in at 5:27 p.m. for a bank robbery at 161 West Slaughter Lane. The suspect was able to get away with cash, police said.
After the robbery happened, several KXAN viewers reached out to us via ReportIt and said they saw heavy police activity near South Mopac and Davis Lane on the Northbound frontage road. A KXAN photographer said a police officer at the scene said the two incidents are related and a suspect had been taken into custody.
It’s not yet certain if the suspect from Mopac was the robbery suspect.
