Reported drowning at Hippie Hollow a false alarm

LAKE TRAVIS, Texas (KXAN) — A reported drowning in Hippie Hollow Park on the east shore of Lake Travis on Tuesday turned out to be a false alarm.

Austin-Travis County-EMS was called to the park, located at 7000 Comanche Trail, at 7:22 p.m.

Medics say they cleared the scene after determining there was no one that needed treatment.

Hippie Hollow is famous as the state’s only clothing-optional public park. Entry is restricted to people who are 18 years and older.

A 34-year-old man died Sunday after struggling in the water in Lake Travis. People on a party boat nearby performed CPR on the man as he was taken to the shore. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital Sunday evening.
