AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police have identified 22-year-old Victoria Garcia as the woman who was killed while driving the wrong way on West Ben White Boulevard last week.

Police say around 1 a.m. on Friday, Garcia was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway when she collided with a driver going in the correct direction.

Garcia died at the scene. Both the driver and passenger in the second vehicle were transported to the hospital — the driver with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities do not yet know if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.Map of wrong-way crashes in Austin since 2014
