Police arrest suspect in north Austin bank robbery

AUSTIN (KXAN) –- Austin police said witnesses helped catch a bank robber who held up a north Austin bank Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the A+ Federal Credit Union in the 15100 block of FM 1825 near Wells Branch Parkway after 12:30 p.m.

Investigators said a man in his 30s walked in, demanded money, and got away with some cash.

Officers were able to track him down after witnesses saw him near a grocery store across the street.

Police said they do not think the man showed a weapon inside the bank.

So far, he has not been charged.
