AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was shot during a robbery Tuesday evening in North Austin.

Police were called to Lola Drive near Georgian Drive at 9:22 p.m. A search for the robbery suspect is still underway.

A man in his 30s was robbed in the parking lot of an apartment building on the 200 block of Lola Drive. Police said the suspect approached the victim and three other people demanding items from them. When one of the people in the group did not comply, he was shot by the suspect armed with a handgun.

The suspect ran off on foot and is still on the loose. The victim was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The suspect is described by police as a short white man wearing dark clothing, approximately 25-years-old. He is estimated to be 5’6″ with no facial hair, last seen wearing a black hoodie, black shorts, and tennis shoes.
