VIDEO: Truck slams into doughnut shop, narrowly missing customer

National News

AUBURN, Wash. (KXAN/NBC) — A customer walking into a doughnut shop in Auburn, Washington, narrowly missed getting hit by a truck when the driver careened off the street and slammed into the business.

The crash happened Friday morning when people were just trying to get their doughnut fix at Donut Star. Security cameras from outside and inside the store caught the whole crash.

The footage shows a white Dodge pickup truck speeding off the road and slamming into the store. Luckily, concrete barriers outside the store helped stop the truck before it went all the way into the shop.

The camera inside the store captured a customer just walking through the door when he saw the truck come barreling at him. The customer quickly jumps over the counter and takes cover.

An employee was in the back of the shop grabbing doughnuts when the crash happened.

The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
